平侍出身、独眼的剑豪丹下左马之介（森山未来 饰），奉相马家当主大膳亮（每熊克哉 饰）之命，前往江户小野冢道场夺取传说中的一对妖刀“乾云丸”与“坤龙丸”。他以忠义为念拼死挑战，却在激斗中失去了右臂。幸得通缉犯阿藤（黑木华 饰）与与吉（加藤谅 饰）相救，奇迹般地存活下来，化名“丹下左膳”重生。此后，围绕妖刀的阴谋不断扩大，敌人接踵而至，连町奉行大冈忠相（高桥克典 饰）也卷入其中——一场关乎忠义与命运的江户风云由此展开。

 7th century Arabia. A time of feuding tribes vying for power and supremacy. Courageous Princess Hind (Aiysha Hart) refuses to serve as concubine to the merciless Sassanid Emperor Kisra (Sir Ben Kingsley). Escaping with her father King Numan into the vast and unforgiving desert, Hind is pursued by Kisra’s mercenary and his bloodthirsty troops. 　　In the near future, aliens have invaded Earth and declared a galactic war resulting in thousands of human casualties. To save Earth, a team of four teenage astronauts brave the alien wilderness of a distant planet to stop an assassin from changing the course of history forever.

　　故事背景发生在抗日战争时期，主角郭东是一名兽医，他的妻儿惨遭日本兵杀害，从此躲到了草原边陲的一个小镇上，过着惶惶不可终日的生活。郭东的自暴自弃使得他与当地人产生许多矛盾。就在此时，一名蒙古族孕妇的生命危在旦夕，众人无奈之下求助郭东，郭东在新生命的洗礼和蒙古族战士的感染下，重新明白了"英雄"的意义，完成了自我救赎。
