　　炎炎夏日，一辆辆黄色的校车载着热爱歌唱和舞蹈的青年男女来到了一处郊外的夏令营。孩子们兴致勃勃，渴望在这里尽情释放对音乐的热爱。今年年轻导演阿特·盖茨雄心勃勃，决定将十年没有排演过的经典名作《歌剧魅影》搬上舞台。这一消息，令在厨房帮厨的卡梅拉（艾莉·麦克唐纳 Allie MacDonald 饰）和巴迪（道格拉斯·史密斯 Douglas Smith 饰）深受触动。原来十年前，姐弟俩那身为著名歌剧演员的妈妈在《歌剧魅影》的演出后被人杀害。该事件让他们封闭了自己，可是卡梅拉无法抑制心底对歌唱的渴望，终于她鼓起勇气报名参加了女主角索菲娅的遴选。然而伴随着她走向阳光，十年前那个恐怖恶魔似乎也从沉寂中醒来……　　本片根据真实事件改编。

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
